Sunday - Last day in AJ

The end of February already, how time flies. We will be leaving here tomorrow, we have really enjoyed our stay here, met some nice people. Just one of the down-falls of RVing, eventually there comes a time to move on. Rainy day today, so we will have more packing tomorrow. Kenny & Doris have asked about 3 times that we reserve this spot, next to them, for next year; nice people. Watched the Canadian Gold medal performance in hockey, what a great game. Shows how good the hockey can be when you take the violence out of it. Really funny - at the end of the game Marg started blowing the horn on the motorhome. LOL. It was a good olympiad for the Canucks, not that we are flag wavers, but makes you proud. Went out for chinese with Carol/Phil & Gerry/Deb and her daughter. After dinner it was ice cream social, so had a chance to say goodbye to lots of people. There was a gospel musical couple after ice cream. They are from Quebec and performed quite a few tunes. Surprised me, it was quite nice. Never did anything like that before.

Saturday

Wow - Go CANADA Go! The Proulx's spent the night again and we went to the parade in AJ to celebrate the start of Lost Dutchman Days & the rodeo. It was 3 hours long.
Weather was a bit cooler, but a nice day. Guys went shopping, girls went shopping, they came back with more bags, LOL. Richard & I went to the In & Out, a burger joint, it was pretty good. After we got back Dave & Cathy Trout showed up and we all watched the Canadian curling team win GOLD over a few beers! Trouts just got back from a trip to Viet Nam and drove in to AJ this PM. The record level of Canadian medals is certainly a topic around here. A lot of these yanks just don't understand curling, so will be more interested with the mens hockey tomorrow. After the game, the six of us went to dinner after which the others left for their places. Seems so quiet around here. LOL Well tomorrow we will start packing up and leave for Surprise on Monday.

Friday 26 February 2010

Fri day

Still a nice day, but a little cooler today. We went over to the flea market and gave Richard & Evelyn their first look at the grand market. They managed to pick up a few things, including new luggage. I exchanged some pocket books. Richard & I got some hats & a mirror for the golf cart. Evelyn got a cowgirl hat and some other stuff she really needed. After that we had lunch at Chili's and it was very good. The portions were so large that we were all swearing off food. LOL. The afternoon we went for a bit of a drive & found some areas we have not seen before, then stopped at Phil & Carols. The girls each picked a bag of oranges off the neighbours tree, and they were yummy. Went to the big liquor store where I sampled scotch. They charged me 10 cents for 4 drinks and they were all Glenmorangie single malt - life is good. The rest had honey flavoured bourbon and said it was good. At the check out Richard was gazing around and in the process goosing the guy ahead in line with his shopping cart - too funny! Managed to get some more good deals on spirits. When we returned we tried out the outside TV connection and watched Sweden best Canada for the gold in curling over a few beers. Off to the Village Inn for dinner.

Feb 25th

Well last night we went to sky harbour and picked up Richard & Evelyn. The flight was on time but as usual luggage slow. Thanks to Barbie in the GPS we got to their place about 11:30 and barely had time for a few beers. Nice place they are staying at and they seem to have everything at their disposal. In the morning stopped at the 5&Diner for b'fast and then on to the 101/202 back to AJ and Carefree. Walked around the park and Richard & Evelyn got to meet some of the neighbours and see the general layout. Managed to make it out to Tortilla Flats where we had a beer & dog in the warm Az sun. Richard thought the road was a little windy - it would give a snake a back ache, LOL. He drove through the little river that crosses the highway and got lots of looks from the tourists. Sat with some people from Camrose who knew people we knew. On the way back we stopped at Goldfield and again Evelyn ran in to someone from the Falher area, small world. Snooped around the old ghost town and picked up a few postcards. Supper last night was the chinese buffet where we have been before. Few drinks and some cards then the Proulx's stayed over on the hide-a-bed. The weather has warmed up a bit, I think we were about 72F, so shorts were the dress of the day.

Monday 22 February 2010

Feb 22nd

Wet & cool again today. I think it got up to about 55F, better warm up tomorrow as the Proulxs will be here and won't believe we come here for the heat, LOL. Went to the optical this AM, 8th trip with the new glasses. They took them back and gave me a credit, glad to see the end of that. Not sure what went wrong, but Margs were perfect, mine were perfectly awful. Marg made a nice tomato soup for lunch and it really hit the spot. Played pool after lunch. Had to endure the yanks making fun at my expense about their hockey team win over us last night. I asked them about the womens curling and their reply was - what is that game anyway, can't understand how it works. So then I told them to just wait, the womens hockey team would give them a lesson. Their reply - its hard to tell the guys from the women, they thought we had some guys in drag. So all that was left was to beat them at pool. On Wednesday we pick up the Proulxs and drive them to Surprise, so will probably over-night at their place. Stay tuned. ;>)

Sunday 21 February 2010

Feb 21st

Well all you canucks can feel better about your weather today, ours was not good here. It rained and was cool, I think the high was probably 58 or 59. So what to do on a rain, well we went to the super liquor store in Chandler. That is the one that claims to offer 1,000 different beer brands. Bought a new scotch, called Battle Hill, its quite nice. Also got quite a bit of other stuff. Get this a 1.75litre Crown Royal for $32. Marg picked some nice wines and some other stuff. They were out of slivovits, sold out, can you believe it. Soem beer as well, they had a nice micro brewery pac with some of the beer I had at Four Peaks a couple of weeks back. Had lunch at the open air mall where the liquor superstore is. Oh yeh, there is a Dillards there, so Marg checked it out. Then we did something we have never done, went to a matinee at the movies. Saw Mel Gibson in Edge of Darkness. Pretty good show. After it was too late to make dinner so we went out to IHop. With pancake week, they offer all you can eat pancakes all week. They make the best pancakes. Then when we got back we stopped in at Clyde & Ann's to wish them well as they are leaving in the morning.

Saturday 20 February 2010

Saturday

Cool & rainy today, so we planned to lounge around and have a lazy day. That was not to be. Carol Canuel & her friend were at our door about 9:00AM, apparently they thought the patio sale was today. Had to have them wait outside so we could change out of our pj's. Then Gerry, Debbie & her mother & daughter showed up for the same reason. Went to Ron & Sue's as she knew of where there was a big sale and they were still in bed at 9:30. We laughed as we both had the same plan to lay in today. Anyway after coffee, we sent them off to the patio sale sue recommended. Oh yeh, the baby blanket Marg won yesterday; Debs daughter is expecting, so gave it to her; too late if any of you were considering how to get it, Hah! I played pool after lunch. Played with Pat from Saskatchewan, Elroy from BC & Luther from Minnesota, good bunch. Marg went out for a few groceries and somewhere along the way stopped in for a pedicure where they talked her into a manicure as well. This was a first for her, first pedicure in 61 years, about time I would say, LOL. Nice nails dear!

Friday 19 February 2010

Friday

The BIG patio sale was today, the park was a-buzz with activity. People walking & driving about to pick up the good deal. hah, it's still just the same junk we see in garage sales at home. Someone said they were arriving as early as 7 but it was not to start until 8AM. Marg was busy with the bake sales in the hall, not sure how it went, but she said the cash box was full of bills. I had a sloppy joe for lunch, it was good. Marg bought a pie at the sale, it was one made by Doris [next door] and her reputation as a pie builder is in the gold medal category. She didn't want to buy it right away, so let them know she would wait 5 min. before she bought it in case anyone else was keen, appearances I guess. Anyway everone was laughing when she ran out of the hall with it. After lunch Marg got dragged out to the hall by the sheriff. She's the lady who fines you 25 cents if you don't have your name tag. Anyway she won 3 prizes in the raffle, gave 2 away and kept the baby blanket. I guess she suspects someone will have one, LOL! She went shopping after lunch and I played pool. After supper we had Kenny & Doris over for pie. Kenny was complaining that he rarely gets pie when she donates them. Doris had to bring her server over as we didn't have a lifter. The pie lived up to its' reputation, it was excellent and we all had a smile on our face. After supper we played cards [golf] with Sue, Ron, Clyde & Ann. Clyde said it was our last chance to get our money back; Ron said that he was just looking to pay his gas back to Michigan. Pretty funny & a fun evening.

Thursday 18 February 2010

Thursday

Another hot and sunny day in AJ. Marg worked in the AM with the group making sloppy joe mix [chili] for the big patio sale. I went out to run errands & get a haircut. Man these barbers here think we all want to get our money's worth, ergo - short hair! Oh well, only 10 days difference between a good and a bad haircut. I played pool in the inter-park circuit and my partner & I won once, lost two. Luther & I usually do much better, but played a tough team. The overall result 10 - 8 for Eastgate. They are always tough competition. A big surprise: Dave & Liz Chomik showed up unexpectedly. They drove in from Havasu to fly out tomorrow AM to Mexico City to see the mayan ruins. Sat around with the rest of the slivovics & a few beers. Marg was busy in the rec building pricing baked goods for the patio sale. We must have seemed quite interesting as Harold stopped in for a glass until his wife drug him away. After him Bob & Darlene stopped by for same. Long happy hour ;>)! Then out with Chomiks for dinner.

Wednesday 17 February 2010

Wednesday

Oops, forgot about this thing. Well sort of, we get busy, you know how it is. Hah! Weather has been great, hot and sunny during the day every day this week. Monday we hung out in the park with neighbours. I played pool. We went to the spaghetti supper, Gino, one of the permanent residents does this annually and most of the park were there. Pretty good actually. Tuesday, back to the optical to get my glasses adjusted - 7th time. Arghhhh. That gave us a chance to have lunch at Ruby Tuesday again, nice place. Marg got some good deals on fancy pj's at Dillards. Got back to the park in time to play some pool and Marg went for a haircut. Pretty short, she got them all cut this time, LOL. Looks good & she is getting lots of compliments from her buddies. Marg got another job for the big yard sale with Rita. She reminds her of mom, so hard to say no to. LOL. She sure knows a lot of people with all her jobs. We were supposed to go with a bunch on the Dolly steamboat, but they moved it to tomorrow and her new job is getting in the way. This is not sitting well with Sue, who said - well just ditch it. Wednesday, I had to go to Stantec for a conference call with the Ft. McMurray & Edm group. They treat me real well at the office & Staci had me all set up. The other people on the board won't even let me talk about weather on conference calls anymore. Marg did laundry and then went to help Sheri clean the motorhome they used. When all her family was here, Greg had pulled his into the park [he has a park model too] and Sheri's family stayed in it. Nice unit, only a year old. I played pool in the PM and Marg spent her time in the pool. She also has a group of pool buddies. Hey I made a funny! No time to cook, so we went to the chinese buffet in AJ. Had to get back early for poker. I lost tonite, 35 cents, big stakes.

Sunday 14 February 2010

Sunday

Wow, best day in a while, got to about 78F and sunny. Day started off great, pancakes for breakfast. Drove out to Surpise & Sun City. It gave us a chance to look around a bit and Surprise is a nice community. We plan on staying in the area for a few days at the start of March when we leave here before going to Las Vegas. The Proulxs have a place in Surprise and we thought it would be nice to be closer and its close to Cabellas ;>), the happiest place on earth [for outdoorsmen]. Had lunch at a nice diner with my valentine. Came back by the freeway where there was a major traffic disruption & detour, so really got to see some sights. Went for the cake & ice cream social tonight after dinner. Had the cake Doris made [real strawberries in it] and Marg picked up another duty from Rita on the park rummage sale this coming weekend. LOL

Saturday 13 February 2010

Sunny Saturday

What a nice sunny day, temp got up to about 75F, everyone in shorts, including me. Went to the flea market in the AM and on the way stopped at a boy scout car wash. The kids were really cute and determined to do a good job. At the market, Marg bought a spare potato peeler. Yesterday when she was about to throw out the peels, the new one was in the bag. Saved it just in time, so she bought this as a spare. LOL. I exchanged for some new pocket books. Got a detective & a WWII story, the rest dusters. Stopped in at the Paradise Cafe & Bakery for lunch, it was really nice. The food was a little different, but much like the one we went to in Vegas last fall. I played some pool in the afternoon, Marg visited with half the park. It turns out our neighbours [Kenny & Doris] have a bunch of antique cars back in Kansas. After dinner had fun [even though I never won] playing cards with Ron, Sue, Anne & Clyde. The week coming up is supposed to be warmer and we are really looking forward to it. Only 2 more weeks for us in this park and then we will move. There are always a few rigs changing, but more at the end of each month now. By the end of April most of the snowbirds will be gone. We are already thinking we will miss some of these people.

Pics from Payson

Some pics in the mountains on the road to Payson

Friday

Pretty slow day yesterday. Went for coffee & donuts in the AM and met some new people from BC. Also met a couple from Pincher Creek who are renting a park model from a couple in Peace River for the month of Feb. I played pool in the inter-park tournament. Team Carefree got its butt kicked. We won 6 of 18 games. My team won 2 of 3 we played and the one we lost was because of a scratch when my partner sunk the 8 ball. I played with Andy & he is an amazing player, almost never loses. I occupied the other spot on the team. Oh well; thats life in the highly competative AJ inter-park 8 ball leaque. Marg did the laundry thing. After dinner her pal Sue came over and they coffee'd and swapped tales.
What a gorgeous day. I think it was about 70F or better. Its been cool for the last couple of days, but I was in shorts today. Today we went for groceries and other good stuff at Walmart. Got a good deal on a 30 pack of MGD [beer]. Checked our powerball ticket, but we didn't win the $25 million. Large winnings from anything are taxable here, so we dodged that bullet! Hah. After we got back I played pool and Marg swam in the pool. No that's not a typo, LOL. Marg went out to Frys [groc store] to buy lobster tails, they have a special on.

Wednesday 10 February 2010

Payson or bus-t

Up at the veritable crack of dawn. On the bus for Payson by 7:30AM for just about 2 hours. Nice trip through the mountains, up in to some high country and the Mazatzal casino. There was snow on the mountain tops and the weather up there was quite a bit cooler. You travel through some pass & over a couple of summits. The bus comes right to the RV park and about 40 of us went for the day. There is no charge for the bus ride and in fact they gave us $10 for coming & another $10 for being Newbies. I played slots, Keno, blackjack & bingo. Marg played slots. I won at everything except the bingo & Marg lost about $30 at the slots. The breakfast special at $2.99 ea was excellent and we had a good time. We went at the urging of Sue & Ron who are lots of fun. After we got back, the park had hamburger night, so we had the $3 hamburger, chips and drink special. No chili this time. Wed night is poker night so after supper I went and played. It really is nickel & dime, but had a good time. The six guys that were there are all guys I knew pretty well, so it was comfortable. Started off winning big, but lost most back, so ended winning 55 cents.

Tuesday 9 February 2010

Tuesday

Nice day today, temps about 72F, and sunny. I saw an ad in the free paper her for windshields, so went and got a new one for the car. $160 installed, compare that to the one I bought in GP last spring for a cash under the table deal, $300. Go figure. Went out to charge up the telephone and stopped to get a potato peeler. No this is not a potato that disrobes, get it! Hah For those of you following us; this is not our first one. It seems Marg threw out the peeler with the peels again, so this is our 3rd peeler in 5 weeks. Me its anchors, Marg its potato peelers. She won't settle for the $1.99 version, rather wanted the good one complete with paring knife for $10.99. We are starting to get a few paring knifes, LOL. The gals at Ace just come up to us with a new one in hand now. Hah! How nice was the weather today, well Marg spent over an hour in the pool. Sue & Betty saw her in there and made some comment about Canadians & polar bears and that they never went near the pool until 90F. True enough, the only people in the pool were Canucks. I played pool with a good bunch and it was fun. Elmer grins like a cheshire cat when he snookers you and I had the pleasure of seeing his grin lots today. After dinner Carol Canuel & Debbie came over and went to bingo with Marg, no winners there either. Some old guy asked Marg to kiss his card for luck because he couldn't win. Well wouldn't you know it, he won the last game for $100. Her bingo friends were asking why she didn't do that for them. Gerry & I played pool. He said I won 3 games, but it seemed like he won more than that. Signing off early as we have to be up at the crack of dawn to go on a bus trip to Payton tomorrow.

Monday 8 February 2010

Monday, Feb 8th

Overcast day today, weather was OK, but probably only about 60F. Not so hot. Chilly night last night, but still quite a bit above frost for you frozen Canucks back in Alberta. Marg went with Gerry, Debbie & Carol to Fort MacDowell and played bingo. This was her first time with the electronic bingo and she didn't seem all that impressed with it. It might of had something to do with none of them winning! Washed the car and did the windows, not sure why as I'm getting a new windshield tomorrow. The windshield was new last spring, but the stone damage from the summer lake trip has just got too bad. The price he quoted me was $169, we'll see. Played pool today with Gino, Mike & Bob. Not sure what the outcome was, but had fun. Called Bill to wish him happy birthday & he confirmed they are coming to Vegas in March. Happy Birthday Bill! Tried to call Lyzi but had to settle with leaving her a phone message & one on FB, I guess when you turn 21, you have a busy day ;~)! Happy Birthday Lyzi!

Sunday 7 February 2010

More pics

Goldfield, Arizona - just east of Apache Junction.

Sunday

Rained last night, but cleared off by morning. Cooler day today, I think the high was 61F. There was a celebration of Tim's life today in the rec hall. I don't believe I have seen the hall with more people. His family was great and they had their own unique way of doing it. At the end there was a lunch totally prepared and supplied by people in the park and there was much more food than was needed. The part that amazed me was their reaction to the people in the park. They are a fairly religious family, being able to sing hymns and quote scripture from memory. Anyway when talking with his brother, he said something very profound. He said the people in his church in Washington were very nice and services there were very meaningful; but the people in this park lived christian values better than any group he had ever seen, including his own church.
After we went to the ghost town of Goldfield where we saw shoot-outs, an old gold mine and lots of souvenier stores. From the pics you can see where I went for a souvenier. Hah! Last year we drove by here and even ate at the saloon, but this was our first visit and it was neat. After that we returned and watched New Orleans win the superbowl. Normally they have a big party here, but not this year. Last year we pulled in to the park during the game and there was no one around. Supposed to warm up tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed for us. LOL!

Saturday 6 February 2010

Saturday

Another nice day in the Valley of the Sun. Everyone here is from someplace else, so lots of talk about the winter weather where they came from. No one tries to impress me with cold anymore, they usually just ask how cold at home and simply shake their heads. My response is that when you grow up in it, you don't know any different. Marg went out with 4 other ladies to do yard sales, Sue drove as she knows the area well. Marg came back with a big bag of paperbacks, all dusters. After lunch then she drove and 4 of them went to Costco in Mesa to get stuff for the lunch tomorrow. They were pretty impressed that she knew her way there without their guidance. A major adventure, for those of you familiar with her sense of direction. She came back with the biggest tequila/margarita bottle I have seen [from Costco]. Apparently Sue, Betty & Anna like margaritas as well. It was my turn for a less exciting day. Messed around with the satellite connection until I knocked it out. A guy [Pat] at the other end of out row from Ontario suggested I get ahold of a guy from Alberta just up his row who had satellite problems and solved them a while back. It was me he was referring to, LOL! After that I re-caulked the shower stall with that RTV silicone as it has a very small leak, where is Phil when I need him, arghhhh. Tomorrow will tell whether I just smeared it or actually got a decent seal.

Friday 5 February 2010

Feb 5th

Day started out cloudy, but by mid morning it was nice and sunny. Went and got my glasses again, I hope they are better this time. We'll see - thats a pun! Played pool after lunch, til about 4 o'clock. Talking with the guys, accents came up. I said that Phil & Chars friends in B'ham thought I had a pronounced accent & was hard to understand. Glen said its just a standard mid-western accent & couldn't see what was so difficult. That's the first I heard there is even an accent that I resemble. Marg went shopping to Frys & the Superstition farm store. The fresh vegetables and fruits are quite remarkable there. Lettuce was 25 cents a head and she had 4 huge bags of fruit and veggies for under $20. She came back all excited because she made her first U-turn. That is one of the unique things here, you can make a Uturn at almost every set of lights or intersection. She had been giving me a hard time about being too ready to make one, but now sees the power of Uturns - LOL! Went out for dinner to My Big Fat Greek. We had seen it driving by and decided to try it. Food was great, but the portions were way to huge, so a doogy bag was in order. After we got back her friend Sue & Betty came by to make arrangements for tomorrow. Five of them are leaving to check out yard sales at 8:00AM and then to Costco to pick up a bunch of stuff for the memorial service lunch.

Thursday 4 February 2010

Thursday or so ;>)

Well the day started out cooler, but turned out nice. Was supposed to rain, but never. We had to get up early and went for coffee & donuts this AM. Sat with the Coons and their entourage. They are pretty funny. Its an information sharing session for the upcoming week. The whole process is humorous, but you have to grow into it. A lot of time spent this AM describing the enhanced security system - they lock 2 of the 3 gates now, LOL! We have ordered our name badges, as they fine you 45 cents if you don't have one. We signed up for the next bus trip to Payton, its a casino run and they were excited because we are 'Newbies'; like I said you have to be here. I think Marg signed up to help with the big patio sale on Saturday, its like a park-wide garage sale, only the stuff is not as good, LOL! Marg was very busy, she has quite a social circle here. She went to spend time with Sheri and the neighbours and while I don't mean to dwell on it.... well one of the ladies here said people in this park are so great, you couldn't ask for a better group. I played pool and we had a road trip to Silverado. Those geezers are tough! I drew Luther for a partner, which was great as we play well together. The tables were totally different, they are 4 1/2 x 9 instead of 4x8, the pockets are smaller and they are faster. Anyway we were challenged, but my team won 2 of 3 games. Overall I think we won 10-8, close but a victory. This evening I broke with tradition and Marg & I went with Sue & Ron to bingo at the next park. He loves bingo, she doesn't, Marg likes it, I don't. Nice people. Oh, she is the one who talked Marg in to the Payton trip. We have plans to play cards with them. Oh yeh, nobody won, but I think someone said we were close again. Ron plays horseshoes, may join him as close counts for a lot more there, LOL! We just got confirmation that the Proulx's are booked, hooray for our side, it will be good. They are staying Sun City, so we will work out the details when they get here. The good news is that Cabellas is in the middle. Most of the park is dark by 10:00pm, but our neighbours Kenny & Dora from Kansas and us are always up till after midnight. May have to start staying up later so I can keep up with Richard. Happy birthday Anna!

Wednesday 3 February 2010

Wednesday

Started off cloudy, but the day turned out to be a nice one. Pretty quiet day around the park, lots of people gathering to talk about yesterday. Marg did house work or is that rv work, not sure what the proper term is for us trailer park trash. LOL! I played pool, for a change. By that I mean I played better today, hardly embarrassed myself more than a few times. Oh well, as Glen says, its just a game. At first there weren't enough so we played 101, but later played 8 ball. Went out for dinner to a new place call #1 Eastern Buffet. It was good, we will go back.

Tuesday 2 February 2010

Groundhog Day

Well it seems the majority of groundhogs saw their shadows, leaving 6 more weeks of winter. Ummmm that will be March 16th. We are planning on leaving AJ on the end of Feb, so will either have a very slow drive or go touring over to the California side of the Colorado river. ;>)! Today was a nice day here, got up to about 72F & sunny, so he must a seen it here. Hah! Had a cupboard hinge to replace, so did some running around to the RV supply places & hardware stores. Difficult to dedicate adequate time to it as I had to play pool for a couple of hours after lunch. Played better today, thank goodness. Played with Elroy, Glen & Luther, good guys. Glen asked how old I was & when I answered, he said I was just a kid and probably still had gold in my teeth. Not sure, but I think that means having my teeth, LOL. The Wii bowling has been put off indefinitely as Tim [the guy organizing] was taken away in the ambulance today, nice guy so it really upset everyone. Marg went to bingo alone tonite and said she came close; not sure thats any better than far when it comes to bingo. She said it was fun, sat with her regular bunch and they had lots of laughs. There is a difference between the way men and women relate. She was in Bealls [like Winners] the other day and Mondays they have a special discount, so the place was packed. Anyway they had to get their Bealls card out before getting to the till, so the other ladies in line held all her stuff so she could use both hands to search. Well by the time she got to the register everyone knew everyone elses' life story and it was like old home week. Can you imagine a group of guys doing that, would you hold my bolts, you my oil & you my 2x4s, etc. so I can get my card out - NOT. LOL. Oh well life in Apache Junction.

Oops day

Oops, when I paid the rent, forgot to pay for another month of internet service, so had to wait until this AM when the office opened to get back on. Sunday was pretty quiet anyway, we went to the flea market where I replenished my stock of dusters at the used book stall. I was able to trade few in, giving me an idea of how many I've read since leaving GP. I knew some days I had read a book, but as it turns out I have read 15 since leaving home after Christmas. Marg got salsa, its usually good from that vendor. We got new neighbours on Sunday, from BC replacing the couple from Chicago. What a nice sunny, warm shorts day. Oh best of all, went to the ice cream social. For those inquiring minds - chocolate. Monday Marg went for groceries and I washed windows. Probably had 4 offers that I could do theirs. Another nice warm day, got some good use of the lounge chair. After lunch I played pool. Not sure why but I did not play well. The other guys like that though, someone needs to lose, LOL. We were going to bbq, but almost the entire park went to the turkey soup. Glens' wife Edrie makes her famous soup once during the winter. There must have been 200 there and some had seconds. Lots of soup, she must have cooked for some army, LOL. I think the park paid for the ingredients, but it was at no charge. It was very good. After we had blueberry pie and ice cream that Marg had from her shopping efforts.
