Sunday

Rained last night, but cleared off by morning. Cooler day today, I think the high was 61F. There was a celebration of Tim's life today in the rec hall. I don't believe I have seen the hall with more people. His family was great and they had their own unique way of doing it. At the end there was a lunch totally prepared and supplied by people in the park and there was much more food than was needed. The part that amazed me was their reaction to the people in the park. They are a fairly religious family, being able to sing hymns and quote scripture from memory. Anyway when talking with his brother, he said something very profound. He said the people in his church in Washington were very nice and services there were very meaningful; but the people in this park lived christian values better than any group he had ever seen, including his own church.
After we went to the ghost town of Goldfield where we saw shoot-outs, an old gold mine and lots of souvenier stores. From the pics you can see where I went for a souvenier. Hah! Last year we drove by here and even ate at the saloon, but this was our first visit and it was neat. After that we returned and watched New Orleans win the superbowl. Normally they have a big party here, but not this year. Last year we pulled in to the park during the game and there was no one around. Supposed to warm up tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed for us. LOL!

  1. Sounds like a nice memorial service, and much appreciated by his family. There seems to be a real sense of community in this park, I am glad you have found such a nice place.
