Valentines Day 2019

A day for lovers. Happy Valentines day to you.
I looked at yesterday's post when I went to make this one.  Note to self - may want to proof read my posts before leaving them.
Our day started at the koffee klatch as our visitors were not up and around until after noon today.  Easton was catching up on some sleep napping in the morning as he had a long day yesterday.  There were a couple of surprises today, other than the donuts being paid for by a couple in the park.  The election process was shortened by asking for nominations from the floor for the executive positions and hearing none, the proposed slate of officers were acclaimed.  Two are returning and two are new, so a good mix of experience and new blood.  The baker boys had a half dozen apple pies for sale from yesterday, so you know I bought one of them.  Have not tried it yet, but it looks good.
By late morning the forecast rain started, more of a sprinkle really.  According to the news it was raining pretty hard in Phoenix, but 20 miles east of there where we are it was just arriving.  The roof coating I put on was doing it's job and stopped all the drips down the side of the trailer out under the carport.  The rain gradually increased through the day with the same result, so yesterday's effort paid off.
We had a bit of time and had a face-time with Brennan, Jessica and of course Paityn.  She was great during the call, very animated and smiley.  It has only been 5 weeks since we last saw her, but she is changing so fast, it was great to have the contact again.
When Lanny called to say they were leaving the rental house, I gave here the address of the Arizona Mills mall, so they headed directly to it rather than come to our place.  We were there by the time they arrived and met them at the entrance where the Rainforest Cafe is.  I was quite a hit with Easton as the store in front of the restaurant was full of things that appealed to him.  They had to drive the freeway to get there and Brent commented on all the traffic on the way.  I told him that was light, just wait until we go back at the start of rush hour.  I phoned once to check on their progress as I was getting concerned they may have passed the exit.  If they did it would put them in the mini-stack probably some of the worst traffic in Phoenix, but they were fine.
The gals shopped a lot, but bought a little.  I think Blake was the only other one to buy anything, he got some golf shoes.  Easton must of had enough rest.  They said he can get crabby when he is tired and he was in great spirits.  After a few hours in the mall it was time to head out fro our supper plans.  The freeway was as busy as expected, so Blake got some first hand experience merging onto the 6 lanes to get in the HOV lane.  That was our saving grace and we passed a lot of slower vehicles in the other 5 lanes.  It rained hard all of the way back.
As it was it took half an hour to reach the Golden Corral.  There were about 40 people from our RV park scheduled to be there at 5:30 tonight.  We got there at 5 and some were eating already, others were in the line ahead of us, while still others were behind us.  It's a bit like herding cats here.  The food was good, the specialty today was roast prime rib of beef.  The place was very busy, with lines to the cashier the whole time we were there.  Easton was a hit, giving high 5 and even kisses with friends at the next table.  After we went back to our place and our guests to theirs, thanks to the wonder of GPS.
