Friday, Feb 15th

Nice to see the end of the rain.  I know there is a drought here and they need the rain, but that is not the weather we signed on for.  There was an inch of rain, doesn't sound like much does it.  Well the desert handles rain in a very different way.  There were flood warnings and watches through much of Arizona.  No, they aren't over reacting.  On the news this morning, here was a creek in the high country [normally doesn't have water in it] that had a storm surge and the water was 12 feet deep.  Almost every storm they show helicopters picking people off the roof of their car in the fords or dry washes.  Today was shirt sleeve weather, it must have been in the high teens today.
Lanny phoned asking if our offer to pick them up was still good, so that's what we did mid-morning.   We went to the big Mesa flea market as they had not been there yet.  They enjoyed it and picked up a few things.  We were there quite a while so we had lunch in the center court.  There was music playing and lots of folks with the same idea as we had.  It was tough finding a seat, but the girls targeted a table with people finishing up and were successful so we had a sandwich in comfort.
After we went up north to Scottsdale where we did a bit of retail therapy and took some pictures.  Blake and Julia using the GPS in the rental found their way to a parking stall within a few yards of our vehicle.  I told them to meet us by the pink ice cream place on Scottsdale road and they were great.  There was a busker and Julia went over the street to throw something in his guitar case.  We looked around for a place to eat, but opted to go over to the outlet mall place in Tempe where there are a good selection of good places.  We ended up in Ruby Tuesday's which was great.  A fun day.  Little Easton just stole everyone's heart again today, just about everywhere we went.
On Tuesday, I forgot that I had a picture of Marg working at the bingo.  She was taking the dollar for entry in the Money Ball jackpot and marking entered cards with a stamp as she was filled in for Lynett who couldn't be there.  Her duty meant I had to mark the patterns on all her cards so she would be ready to play.  I think that was the reason she won that night.
