Monday, Feb 25th

A much nicer day, but as usually happens in the desert it was cool when the sun was down.  I know that happens everywhere, but it seems more so here.
I went for a bike ride this morning.  It was the first day in a while that was pleasant enough to venture out.  After checking with the usual riders, just Charlie and I headed out.  We did the route up to Idaho rd and back through the area to the west of here, so about 6 miles.  It was a bit more challenging on the roads after the flooding as there were lots of stretches where the sand/gravel had washed on to the road surface.  Eventually the city comes along and cleans it off, they just push it back to the road margins or I guess we would call it the boulevard.
After I got back I did some caulking along the Az room wall base and the short wall at the rear of the carport.  I mainly did the part that seemed to be leaking last week.  It is pretty messy stuff, so I mask along the concrete to keep a straight edge.  The stuff skins over pretty quick but takes a while to cure, so the working time with it is short.  Marg did some laundry this morning, mainly the bedding as the washer is smaller than home so it pretty much fills a load.  Then she hangs the sheets on Janice's line.
Kenny came along as I had offered to help him with tables and chairs.  They had a dinner for a group of friends tonight so needed seating on the breezeway for 21.  Doris was cooking yesterday and today for it.  She made chicken fried steak, cream corn and potatoes.  The desert was a choice from 3 different kinds of pie.  For the cream corn Doris actually creams regular kernel corn.  She also made a cream mushroom white gravy for the steak.  It was all very nice and a lot of fun.
I played some pool this afternoon, although not well, but I did win a few games.  Marg visited a bit today, a lady who has a weak heart, a friend who was in a car accident with her husband [car totaled] and a couple of her pals, at different times.  Then she picked up the mail, we had a nice card from Lannie after their visit.
Later in the afternoon I went to happy, it was a smaller group; a good thing.  Marg made an urn of coffee for the dinner at Blanke's using the one she got earlier this year.  Then we went over there for the dinner.  Marg said she had never seen a pile of dishes like that, so just started in on them.  Doris was still cooking, so it was a big help to her.  After dinner we sat around with the group and visited, a nice evening.
