Monday, Nov 19th

The sky was clear blue today and it warmed up to a very nice day.
After breakfast I spent some time on the phone with Tracfone trying to get the account details sorted out.  This was a good call, the lady spoke reasonably good English and we got the account details sorted out.  Much better.
Then I went into Phoenix to play golf at Encanto with Gerry & his friend.  This meant no co-rider, so no HOV during rush hour.  As luck would have it I went there outside of the morning hours and returned before the start of the afternoon hours.  There was no one ahead of us all day and just a pair about 2 holes behind, so almost like playing a private course from what I recall of Moseley.  Hit the ball reasonably well as I never lost one today, but struggled a bit with all the parts of the game not coming together on the same hole.  Our tee time was 11:00 but we got off a bit early and we were done and off the course by 2:00.  On my way home I missed the off ramp to the 202, so was heading south on the 10 highway to Tucson and Mexico.  Got off it on the ramp to Sky Harbor and drove through the airport area to get the 202 there.  When I was going under one of the overpasses, a 737 jet went over right in front of me, very cool.  This might even be a quicker route, if all those pickup and drop off people weren't in the way.  LOL  The freeway was pretty busy until I got through the area around Scottsdale where the 101 joins it and then it was clear sailing.
Marg did laundry this morning and then did all the banking.  She checks the credit card receipts to make certain the charges are right and then pays the bills on line.  She has been doing this so long that it works like clock work.  She also had several visitors stop by as she sits out in the breezeway and folks are always walking past here.  She also uses this time to make phone calls and keep in touch.  Even the park managers grandchildren stop in to chat with Marg periodically, they have always chatted us up, especially the youngest girl.  When we used to be by the office, Marg was always giving them treats and when she was in girl scouts she always came up to where we are now knowing Marg was good for a couple boxes of cookies.
When I got home we had facetime chats with Charlene in Birmingham, Haylee in Edmonton and later Paige in Vancouver.  Sure is a nice way to keep in touch.  Yesterday we had facetime chats with Bill and Char with them using their I-phones for it.
Went to happy at 4 today.  It was well attended, there must have been 20 people there.  There are some folks who don't like it being too spontaneous and feel uncomfortable looking for the place, so a couple ladies have undertaken to organize them in 2 week rotations.  I think we are on for Friday this week.
Supper was bbq steak and baked potatoes.  The steaks we got at Fry's and they were very nice strip loin, but the way they were cut they were more like what we would call a New York cut.  They were thick and very tender.
I think the weather was in the 20C plus range today, it was definitely short pants weather here.
