Saturday, March 24th

A nice day, but a serious wind blew most of the day.
We got off to an early start as Marg had identified a couple of park sales she wanted to check out.  They were both large parks, one an upscale park, the other an older one.  When I say upscale, I mean one with better quality junk.  LOL  At the first sale she managed to get a couple of metal wall ornamental flower pots and put me on to a squeegee.  She wanted to dress up the far wall in the breezeway an has already posted a pic of them on her FB page.  For my part I plan to scrub the driveway and then put a coating on it, so after washing it I will need to get the water off to help with drying it and for $1 how could I go wrong.  The older park was a bust, as is usually the case, their junk was not up to our standards.  LOL
We made it back for lunch and on the way passed a guy who had a bistro table and two rocking chairs for sale.  She went back and was impressed with what he had, so told him it was a good price but asked if he would take less.  Well she ended up with them for $20, a heck of a deal as they are in excellent condition.  Then we went out to Walmart for a few things. Lunch was just a hotdog, but Marg had found some with pork, the first we have found here and they were good.  We just have not got accustomed to the beef wieners.  We needed some groceries so having a bit of time thought we would be OK.  Well we sort of were, but looking at our watch it was close to the time she had committed to be at the hall to help her fellow rec committee members decorate, so we had to hustle.

When we got back, her group were already at the hall, so I dropped her off to help while I put the groceries away.  This was the wind-up dance and in the past we have never had a farewell function, rather everyone just kind of drifts away.  This was a nice idea.  Everyone was given a cardboard arrow to write their names and destination on as part of the decoration.  They had hand cutouts on the tables that people could wave at the end.  A photo booth that had a hand drawn map of the park, strips of fake road at the back and a bunch of other stuff that made for a celebration.  You know celebrate beginnings and endings, well this was a first for this celebration.
Attendance was very good, so many residents here must have agreed that it was a good idea.  There are quite a few daily or week long campers in the park now and a few of them attended tonight.  It was well done, even to the selection of music by Malcolm. The last song was the Na na Hey hey kiss him Goodbye song by Steam that they use in many sporting events.
