Wednesday, December 21st.

Wow, did you realize this is a special day?  Yes it's the Winter Solstice [first day of winter] or shortest day of the year and Patti's birthday.  Happy birthday Patti, hope you day was special and that you enjoyed Kassidy's concert.  One of my favourite parts of the Christmas season has always been the kids concerts at school, sorry we missed it.
It sprinkled a little this morning, but I went golfing anyway.  There were three of us from the park here and we met up with Joe at the course, so we had just the one foursome, probably others thought it was going to be wet and miserable, but the opposite was true.  The game went OK, even though I had one triple to come in with a 46.  I walked the course this morning and probably should have taken a power cat as the knee is quite tender.
While I was away, Marg did some laundry.  She had a load of sheets and towels in the Laundromat as they are kind of bulky for the machine here.  It also gave her an opportunity to put a scented bounce sheet in with them.  When I got back I went down and took them out of the dryer, bringing them home.
By then it was a soup and sandwich lunch and then out to run errands.  Marg was looking for a few things for Christmas eve and the happy hour group.  Our first stop was the Mexican grocery store down on Stapely, where she loves the unique nature of the store, especially the bakery.  She got some nice pastries and a few grocery things.  Then it was back on the freeway, stopping at Costco on Sossaman.  Costco was busy and we got a bunch of grocery things as we are having a few people over Christmas eve and some of the Costco stuff is unique.  A funny thing happened at the cash.  The couple in front of us saw something we had and they had been looking for unsuccessfully.  They asked where it was, but he lady returned saying she couldn't find it.  The guy said that was not an option as the one we had was scanned and paid on their bill, so to go back.  Marg said, oh he [me] will go and find it, so I had run almost to the back of the store where I found both it and her and it ended well.  It would be nice to invite more, but it will be cool out so we need to be indoors and the space here is an issue, so there will be 4 plus us.  Finally a stop at the water outlet to fill the 5 gallon bottle for the water cooler and we headed home.
By the time we got unpacked it was happy hour and we headed down for a break.  After a short time there and supper, it was time for the Cale Moon concert.  This was sold out as soon as the tickets came out and we were not disappointed, he was just as good as his last performance.  It was the better part of 3 hours and a combination of his music and some of others.
