Monday, Jan 8th

The day started out a bit cloudy, but became very nice by mid-day.
I had made arrangements to golf at Encanto with Gerry Canuel.  From the park here, Gary & Stan had agreed to join us, so we had a 4some.  Left Carefree shortly after 9 and traffic on the 202 was fairly light.  Gerry was meeting us there so we stayed on the freeway until the tunnels in downtown Phoenix where we took the 7th Ave exit at the west end.  When I got to the course, I had a pleasant surprise as my Golf Phoenix card was still valid so I got a good deal on green fees.  The course was in nice shape and the pace of play was very good, hardly waited at all on the tee's.  I need to get accustomed to the fast greens here again as there is nothing like them at home.
Marg started out re-arranging stuff in the breezeway and the trailer.  It was a combination of finding out what she had and putting it in a more practical order.  As part of that process she also did some housekeeping.  She took a ride around the park in the golf cart and one of the guys who took the baking classes last year stopped her to ask about her recipe for sticky buns.  She came home and made him a batch to give him an opportunity kind of like - try it before you buy it.  Well she gave him the batch to bake, so he would get some experience with that part.  The drive also gave her an opportunity to get more familiar with the cart, especially the brakes.  I think it will be a lot better to drive once we get them fixed properly.  She also had a few visitors, there is no shortage of them with the friendly people here.
Returning to the park was pretty good as we had an earlier golf game, I was on the road around 3, so before the rush hour traffic got heavy.  Having extra riders, I was able to travel the HOV lane and the trip home was very quick, a big plus.
Once home we had a bit of quiet time and Lynette joined us for a 3 person happy hour.  The happy hour gathering is getting very large at times and although Kenny stopped by to make certain we knew where it was, we like to take a break once in a while.  It turns out Lynette had the same idea as we did.  It is definitely more personal than the large group settings.
Supper was bbq'd steak and baked potatoes.  The potato's were very good, well the steak was as well and we had a quiet dinner.
