Thursday - a bit late!

Another last today, coffee & donuts in the hall.  It was surprising to see the numbers out for it, but not everyone leaves by March 31st.  The meeting was short as there are only a few things to deal with, but the donuts were just as good as the long meetings. ;>))  It was a cooler day, in fact down right chilly first thing in the morning.  Well not chilly by what we expect at home, but by our expectations here in the valley of the sun.
Richard & Evelyn left early, about 8, well before coffee.  They had to get to Sky Harbour airport to pick up Doug & Elaine who were just getting back from Edmonton.  They had a bit more luggage than they arrived with, after the prior day stop at Ross's & Total Wine.  It was a nice visit with them and this trip rather than tour around we included them in our normal park activities, which included a couple of happy hours, so they got to meet lots of our friends in the park.
I did some work on the fence in the back patio. It seems all of our neighbours picked it up at one time or another last summer.  My problem is that there are water and power lines back where it is, so I can't set the posts in ground, so instead mounted them on cement deck blocks.  The blocks are heavy, but the winds down here can blow hard.  I didn't think the lattice work would stop as much wind as it did, so seem to have a design flaw, LOL.  Anyway I made a brace that I will leave on for the summer this year and leave here with my fingers crossed.  While in the shed, I found some other problems that needed some re-organizing, including putting some of the stored stuff in the Az room [ie: golf clubs].
It was the day I had committed to take the ladies to Fort MacDowell.  It started out as only 3 this time, but Rita came by asking if she could come with us, so she was the 4th.  They wanted to try the evening bingo and none of them wanted to drive it in the dark, so they always went to the afternoon on before.  We took the freeway, a different route for the gals.  It was a longer term trip for me, so I had agreed to play bingo with them.  My lasting impression was -- I have never seen so many odd bingo games, e.g.:  7/11, 21, diagonal line with opposite postage stamp, etc.  I never won a thing, but the good news was 3 of the ladies did OK in the casino and Lynette won a bingo that pay a couple hundred in a zoo game where she also got a big bear.  Well actually she gave me the bear, so it looks like I may be able to use it as a passenger and ride in the HOV lane during rush hour??  Marg made a couple hundred in the casino, but Lynette was a big winner and they were all very happy for her.  There were lots of close calls as well, like when Rita was down to one number for $1,200.  Some of the games had very large payouts if you got one early enough, like $84,000 for a couple & $6 or $8,000 for others.   The ladies all had fun, for me it was all the bingo I wanted and more, LOL.  Got home late, around 11, so that was why the blog is late.
