St Patricks Day, 2015

Another gorgeous day in the sun.  In fact it was really hot even in the shade.
We had to get going early, but Marg was up really early and made cinnamon rolls with icing for my breakfast.  Such a great partner in life.
We were down at the rec hall kitchen by 8AM.  My job was to cut corned beef that they had cooked yesterday.  Marg's job was to prepare carrots, potatoes and cabbage for the cooking.  There was lots of help, but that is what happens when well regarded people take on tasks, everyone wants to see them be successful.  It only took about an hour with the large number of helpers.
Got lots of nice birthday wishes today, thank you everyone.
Lunch today was corned beef and cabbage and the hall was pretty much full.  The meal was very good and we rounded it out with white cake iced in green and ice cream with green crème de menthe.
For a laugh I filled a cooler bag with beers and told everyone is was an Irish lunch bucket.  Got the reaction you would expect.  LOL  Even shared a few beers with the guys today, but I obviously missed some who would have like to be included.  Everyone was wearing green, well almost anyway.
After lunch we went out and bought water, with the heat we are going through and incredible amount of it.  The dispenser at Fry's is probably the best deal around at 15 cents a gallon.  Compared to what we pay for water out of the tap, that is still quite a premium; probably 40 times, but still a better deal than bottled water.
Supper tonight was just a quick bite to eat.  We were both still pretty full from lunch.  Then it was bingo and Gerry & Deb came to join us.  Lots of winners at our table, but neither Marg nor me.  Deb won and they split with us, as always.  Good thing for her luck, in fact she almost won the Powerball jackpot which was over $600.
Mother always reminds me I am half Irish on this day.  A day when everyone is either of Irish descent of wishes they were -- Erin Go Bragh!
