Happy birthday Paige & Haylee, we really enjoyed the facetime we were able to arrange with you tonight. The only thing better would to have been there with you. Happy birthday sweet 16, hard to believe.
It was golf day for the park, so I rode with Pat & Diane to Apache Sun. The foursome I played in was mostly regulars, but we did have one new fellow who bought a park model. Interesting that he is still working and is leaving for Alaska on Monday for work. He is 3 weeks in & 3 out and has family in the park now. He took Gerry's place as he is sick and unable to play for a while. For me I played much better than the last time out, although there were 3 turtles on the 5th hole, a grave omen. One turtle you will have a good drive, two turtles the outcome is suspect, but 3 turtles, they came to see the splash. It didn't happen on that hole, but the same water is on #6 & you guessed it, mine was wet. It was cool this AM, so played in long pants today. That is probably only the second time this winter.
Marg went out for some makeup and a few other things, just down to the small centre in AJ. I think I have new jammies as an outcome, so it was all good. I went over to the farewell block party on the street behind us. Our neighbour behind has sold her place and is leaving the park. Although she has been here a few years, her parents had the place for many years before, so they are well known in the park. It was a very good turn-out and was actually a block party. In the midst of it the park manager came to ask people to move so a new RV could get through. Pretty funny, everyone moved aside and as the motorhome was passing through people waved to them. Then Stan ran up to it with a plate of food for each of them. As they passed by, Gene said this is just the welcome everyone gets in this park. They are from Alberta, so that makes four couples in the park from sunny Alberta.
Had to break up the party as everyone was leaving for their own version of happy hour. We went to our regular group and it was pretty well attended. Some new casual campers have moved in next door to it and everyone was laughing as we discussed what they would be thinking. Things like what have we moved next to, is this a regular thing, is that why there were so many chairs over there; the imagination runs wild. The park here has a significant number of RV sites that turn-over on a regular basis. Some of them for an rv club that requires a maximum stay of 10 days. Marg normally just has a soda, but tonight she made double slushes for her and Doris. You really need her to explain the double slush.
Supper was bbq steak. Very nice and Marg made up a potato and veg tray that turned out very nice. Finished it off with some coffee cake from the Mexican grocery store bakery. For mine I had a bit of clotted cream on it, go forbid that stuff should go to waste.
It was poker night, so I went and played. We had a full house. Gee I crack myself up with these puns! I was fortunate that they let me win early so I could lose before leaving so that my change bag would not be too heavy to carry home.
