Sunday

Saturday was not too busy, so I never made an entry to the blog.  It was a hot day, probably in the 80's, it was gorgeous.  Went for a bike ride and we made about 4 1/2 miles.  It was windy and tough riding into the wind and we didn't want to go too far west as that would mean a long ride back into the wind.
When I got back, I finished the wagon for Larry.  He was pretty happy with it and Nancy has plans to put a potted plant in the wagon box.  We had quite a few visitors during the day, so Marg stayed around and then went out for a haircut.  Pretty funny as it is a place that several of her friends use and being desperate, she decided to try it.  The funny part is she really hit it off with the hairdresser's approach and ended up with a positive experience.  I can count the number of these on one hand.  I guess the hairdresser said she looked apprehensive about the way her hair is done and offered her the opportunity to blow dry her own hair, which she did.  The end result was she was really pumped about the experience.
Being Valentines day we planned to go out for supper to Red Lobster.  One of Marg's friends approached her about going out to dinner with 2 other couples, so she agreed.  It seems several other people got on the bandwagon and in the end there were 15 of us went out as a group to the Golden Corral.  We were fortunate that they sat us all together and we had a great time.  People shared rides and everyone enjoyed their meal as there is so much variety.  Apparently I now have a rain check outstanding for Red Lobster though.
Sunday was also a beautiful day and a couple of the guys picked me up to ride again.  There was no wind today, so we made about 8.2 miles.  About 1/3rd of the way into our ride we came across a snake in the road.  It had been hurt by something, likely a predator as it was not squashed and was still pretty alert when we saw it.  I did a comparison to the snakes of Arizona site 9 [there are a few dozen] and it looks to be a gopher snake and is not poisonous.
We went out shopping a bit as I need a pair of shorts and of course Marg bought 3 pairs.  She always does that, claiming it is so hard to get me shopping that she has to take advantage.  Then she had a coupon for a deal on some kind of cream at Dillard's and we sure wouldn't want to miss out on that, it even came with a free gift.  She was pretty happy with the outcome of all that anyway.
When we got back to the place it was pretty much happy hour, so we went over there.  Pretty good sized bunch today.  Beth had a bunch of red heart shaped balloons filled with helium.  At first I thought they were her Valentine gift, but it turned out she wanted to release them in memory of her 9 yr old grandson.  He died a year ago today in New Mexico, quite unexpectedly in what seemed like a harmless hospital procedure.  Anyway we released the balloons, an emotional moment as you can imagine, some of the ladies penned a message on theirs.  It was quite a sight to see them float away.
Ice cream social tonight.  I had a banana split, Marg cake & ice cream.
Oh yes the rock of petrified wood Marg bought the other day.  It's pretty cool, so thought I would share it with you.
