Robbie Burns Day

A day to celebrate your Scottish heritage, or at least enjoy a dram of single malt, Slainte!
We got off to a slower start today.  It seems Marg picked up some type of bug and was not feeling well last night and turned in early.  We both seem to be getting a bit of a head cold anyway slept in this morning.  I think a combination of being very busy and it has been a bit chilly at night.  No pink or red spots yet, so we must have dodged a bullet on the red measles that everyone seems to think are coming from Disneyland out here.
We had a leisurely breakfast and then went down to do laundry.  There is a church service in the rec hall every Sunday, so the laundry room is closed until it's over.  Marg had 5 washing machines going and then back for the move to dryers.  I went along to fetch & carry and hold the other end of the sheets while she folded them.  There you go, now I do laundry!
While the machines were churning away, I went over to Ace hardware to get a catch for the rear screen door.  It seems I never get out of those places without a few other things & that was the case again today.  Always some projects around for a handy guy, LOL.
When I returned Marg was steaming the clothes and had a friend observing.  I think she may have converted another iron user to the steamer.  She has been doing it so long that she makes it look easy.
We then went to happy hour and shared some info.  Lots of people curious about our week with family and over to California.  Also lots of in-the-park people stuff happening, what passes for drama in a place full of seniors.  Also some new information of park model sales, one sold and another is up for sale.  This is a big deal as in the past, almost nothing goes up for sale here and when it does, it goes immediately.  Bev had returned with her family and is in the process of looking to sell her park model, a much speculated on item since her husband passed away last summer.
A bbq for supper and then off to the ice cream social.  Pretty good attendance and I ordered my banana split with no pineapple to really shake things up around here.  LOL  Checked the bulletin board and it seems we are the team to make breakfast next Saturday morning.  Oh well it's good to get it out of the way.
It was a nice day today, in the high 70's I believe.  The forecast is for rain either Monday or Tuesday, depending on which report you listen to.  Fortunately Wednesday is supposed to be nice for golf.

  2. I've been working on a bottle of Jura, I'm sure that we may well have sampled it together, but it's one to look out for if you see it on offer
