January 9th

Started the day off with a ride on the bike.  Made about 6 1/2 miles today with the strong winds and got a good workout.  Other than windy, it was a great day to ride.
When I returned, we went to Lowes where we got the paint for the finish coat in the Az room and a piece of carpet.  The old carpet is worn and stained, so rather than try to clean it, we just decided to replace it.  When we got back to the park, I painted the room.  It covered pretty good with the primer coat on it with surprisingly little paint.  I went through a bit more than a gallon of primer, but about half of that with this paint.
Marg was out and about in the park and returned with a bicycle.  It is a nice bike and has seen almost now use.  She wanted to have it on hand when Daniel gets here in case he wants to ride with grandpa.  We may also have use for it when Katie gets here if she is interested.  There was an interesting story to the whole bike thing, but suffice it to say it was a deal she couldn't pass up.
After cleaning up the paint mess, we went to happy hour.  It was food Friday, so all the girls bring something, it ends up being a kind of pot-luck for the group.  Marg made a slow cooker full of perogy's and ham sausage.  She fried them in onions and butter, they were really good.  It was hilarious when one of our friends from New Mexico tried one, his reaction was - I don't know what these are, but they sure are good.  This pretty much ended up being supper for the group and a good one it was.
After I had agreed to drive the gamblin' gals to Happy Days where the bingo jackpot is at $700.  I stayed to play and ended up winning a game, although the gals were only close.  As that really doesn't work in bingo, they returned a little lighter in the pocket book.
