Avi

Well we left St G and it was cool & windy, but at least no rain. Roads were good all the way, but we did get some road splash, so will have a major wash job when we get to AJ. Fought a pretty serious side wind most of the day. We got to Las Vegas just before noon when traffic was light and were through the city by 11:45. Went down through Searchlight to Laughlin. Its a very scenic drive from the highway, down the river banks of the Colorado river. This is just about 40 miles downstream from the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Weather in the valley was nice, much warmer and not so much wind. We got a spot at the KOA at Avi, which is part of Laughlin and will be here for 2 nights. Really lucked out as we never reserved and got the last spot with services in the park. As you can see from the picture, the palm trees keep the snow away. This is one of the coldest winters they have had down this way and the media is full of commentary on it.
Went for dinner to the buffet, if you are a buffet fan, this one is for you. I forgot to mention that Marg got her first SENIORS discount at dinner last night, well tonight was her second. It was 2 for 1 night for us and the food was very good. They even had flambe deserts included. We purchased tickets to the new years eve function in the hotel, so that is the game plan for tomorrow night.

  1. Glad to hear the trip is going well... shame you have to wash the motorhome. I don't think Mom wants you advertising her seniors discount. Let alone shouting it in capital letters... lol
Sounds like a fun way to bring in the New Years.... Happy New Year! xx
