Dec 31st, Day 2 of the trek

Early start today, on the road by 7:45AM. Got thru Lethbridge without getting lost, a major accomplishment for us. A new feature to our trip is the Ipod [Christmas present from the Smiths' - 1st pic], thru the car radio. Marg has gone from techno peasant to Queen, getting it operating. Picked up a couple of nice bottles of scotch at the duty free & the 15 yr Dalwhinnie is working out nicely. Snow and plow trucks south of the border, until Shelby, much improved after. By Helena roads were dry and got our speed up to 75 mph, made good time. Even great thru Elk Park pass on thru Butte. The Monida pass was very nice as you can see in the first, but by the summit played it's trick on us & looked like the 3rd picture. Made it as far as Idaho Falls, for dinner and another road side motel. Stay tuned forecast is for blizzard tomorrow.

  1. Glad the Ipod is working out well for you... Mom, you are such a techno Diva... bravo.
You are making remarkable time... be careful with the blizzard.... Phil was sad to hand back the Durango... we fetched our little cat, and she was so pleased to be home. and filled our fridge... Anna remarked that she couldn't believe how much colder it feels here, its that damp. Craig picked her up, and they were off to a New Years do at his cousins... Lyzi braved the City Center with a bunch of mates.... We had a little Christmas and opened all our lovely gifts... Katie was so excited.. We had a little nap in the afternoon as we were all shattered, then the three of us played some new wii games until midnight... and watched the clocks turn... Happy 2010! It can only be a better year then the last. Drive safe today... lovin' the blog... miss you. xxxxx
