Well so much for bragging about the weather in sunny Arizona. This winter storm that is coming in from the northwest is mainly north of us, but has cooled things down very quickly, The overnight low last night was below the freezing point of 32 F, some areas were reported as 28. There is a freeze warning for the next two nights, so I covered our water tap with a fridge blanket. The high today in the sun was about 54 F, so 12 C. Now that may seem not too bad to some people, but it's not the Arizona we signed up for. LOL The story will get better tomorrow when we golf. It is supposed to warm up on the weekend and then next week will be much like this week. We have 3 grandchildren coming at the end of the week, hope the forecast is wrong.
Lots of indoor time today We went out for a bit and had the seat warmers on in the truck. Our trip was just down to Walmart to pick up a few things. We were out of some cereal, banana's, ice cream as well as a bunch of other stuff. The place was not terribly busy, but its never a case of where is everyone. When we returned, I called Sams Town for a couple of hotel rooms and even though they advise on line booking for rates, I did better on the phone.
I went to play pool after lunch, it's always nice and warm there. It was busy as well, seems quite a few had the same idea as all 3 tables were full. The games were good today and I was about even on the win / lose stats. While it's nice to win, for me it depends on who I am playing. Sometimes its just fine to have a good game and lose. I left a bit early as one of the guys was looking for a 1 3/8" socket or larger and I thought I might have one. Turned out the biggest was 1 1/4, so not quite what he needed.
There was a happy hour at Blankes, so we went. It was chilly, but Kenny had the patio heater going. It's one with the large glass tube and the fire goes all the way to the top, pretty cool and the heat is not bad either. Some of the guys were asking about what I am selling at the park sale and we kidded back and forth. I told them I have prices, but may entertain offers from friends and that although they are on the friend list, to be careful they don't fall off. On has offered to take things home for us and he went on about the cost of delivery to Canada. That kind of thing.
Supper was in tonight as we had the rest of the tacos for lunch so did not feel like Taco Bell. Marg got it all together and was out the door in time to do her job at the bingo. The attendance was up a bit owing to the size of the money ball pot at $699. There were no winners at our table, although we had some close calls. The money ball was won by a lady from Grande Prairie, so that was good. On that game I only need to numbers with the money ball being one, so another case of close but no cigar.
