Thursday, February 6th

Weather, can't do anything about it, just complain.  It was cool again last night and by morning was still in the 30's.  The daytime high soared to about 54 F [12 C].  It was actually pretty nice in the sun around mid-day and early afternoon.
We went to the coffee klatch this morning which was very well attended.  Our table was drawn 2nd, so great selection of donuts.  Some new people in the park there, one from New York sat at our table and he was very friendly.  The meeting was partly a precursor to the patio sale tomorrow so everyone got information of what was happening and when.  Kenny also did his part as chair of the nomination committee for elections of the association executive.  One of his duties is to lay out the process for anyone interested in letting their name stand for election.  As part of the process he identifies a street person on each street to whom anyone interested in holding an office can go for information or to let it be known they want to run for office.  Guess who the street person is on Happy Hour lane?  Well its someone who writes a blog that you may be reading.
After coffee we headed straight home to start setting out our items on the driveway that are for sale.  The park generally does this so that people working on the association event can still shop for great bargains while still being able to volunteer on Friday.  Having quite a few things to sell, we wanted to get it all out.  The pre-sale was to start at 3, but by then we had sold more than half of our stuff.  It's tough selling to friends, so we ended up giving out some pretty good deals in a few cases.  We sold $150 or more, which is a lot of small dollar items.  By the end of the day most of the really good stuff was gone.  We had a few times people came, looked, left and then returned to find their intended purchase item sold.  It appears there are lots of vendors in the park this year, although we were too busy to go check them out.  Well that and the fact we need to downsize, not acquire stuff.  There were also a few humorous situations.  One guy came to tell me I wasn't asking enough for a small plane, so I doubled the price.  When a fellow asked about it, I told him, to which he replied well you haven't found that buyer yet.  Marg piped up that well he's kind of partial to it anyway, so no matter.  Something similar happened with a small ball pean hammer.  A few outsiders came in to try and be early birds, they are probably the real serious park sale chasers.  Tomorrow morning will see the less clever ones arrive in our park before the 8 AM start.  Can hardly wait!
We shut it down at 4 and went to happy.  It was time for a cocktail by then.  It was over the other side of the park and with the sun still out a nice chance to relax.  The guys I was around mainly talked about beer making and drinking.  The gals talked about tons of stuff, like the girls luncheon on Tuesday, how many times Doris got speeding tickets, the upcoming talent night.  Seems to me they lack focus.  LOL
After five of us went out for dinner to Woochi.  We have been there in the past, but it was our first time this winter.  It is the Chinese buffet on Signal Butte.  The food was very good tonight, better than we remembered.  There was a lot of crab and shrimp prepared various ways as well as many other great dishes.  A busy day for us.
