A nice day in the valley even though it took a while to warm up and the wind was cool for the morning. Our guests were up and about by the time I got up. George had walked around the park a few times and Bonnie was up and walking by then as well. It seems they have fitbit watches and try to get in a predetermined number of steps each day.
Marg made a monkey bread last night and baked it in the oven this morning. There was lots of it, so she sent some over to our next door neighbour, Janice and the rest to Blankes for their breakfast. After a bite to eat we went out for a drive up the Bush highway through Usury pass. I was hoping we would see the wild horses today, but never did. We made a few stops, one at Saguaro lake and a second at Butcher Jones park, both scenic spots. Our guests seemed to enjoy the trip.
We had intended to stop for lunch at the restaurant at the lake, but it was too early to eat. We continued back to the city and stopped at Ace hardware. I had told George about the motion activated light bulbs they sell and as there is no store in Yuma he wanted to get some. We intended to go to Village Inn, but it was very busy, so it was Jack In the Box for lunch. From there I drove Marg home as she had some things to get done.
I took our guests to the Mesa market as one of the vendors was going to bring in her Canadian coins for me to look at. It turned out she forgot them, so it was a wasted trip. Then I stopped at the flea market on Apache trail to see if the vendor there had any new ancient golf clubs. He did but none that I was interested in. Heading back we stopped in at Safeway where Marg wanted me to pick up the mini potatoes for supper, then back to our place.
We had time for a beer when we got back and then it was on to supper prep. Marg had a roast in the slow cooker and the mini potatoes on the boil. The potatoes and some of the veg were put in a tinfoil pan to roast on the grill. At the same time Marg had some more things going on for supper. Doris had dropped off a loaf of freshly baked bread that was included with the supper. We were six for supper and it was all great.
After supper we went for the ice cream social. It was well attended tonight and we all had a bowl of ice cream and the other 3 had a piece of cake.
