Thursday, March 21st

A bit cooler day today.  The locals always love it when there is any weather that is a break from the heat of summer.
We started off going to the koffee klatch this morning.  There was a glitch at Basha's so there were not enough donuts to go around.  There were some baked goods, cupcakes and cookies, but its not the same, so I passed and simply had coffee.  It was a well attended meeting, so a bit of a shame when it was so easy to remedy.  Go to another grocery store: Safeway, Fry's, Walmart, etc.  The meeting was short and after it there was a board meeting.  Marg is a board member now and I stayed because they asked me to.  I gave a bit of a talk on the tenants association FB identities and how they are used.  After their meeting, I took pictures of the new executive to post on the association FB site.
Later in the morning I went to help a friend build a shed.  They just bought a park model and it has a nice Az room, but no place for his tools and stuff.  The shed is to be 5 ft x 12 ft and will have a sloped roof.  The ceiling height inside will be roughly 8 foot to match the Az room.  The walls were very heavy when we finally go them built.  Fortunately we had lots of hands to help carrying them up a bit of a hill to the site.  A short break for lunch and back for a couple hours in the afternoon.  Marg fried up a bunch of meat balls and put them in the slow cooker in a sweet and sour sauce for later in the day.
Marg had a meeting of the Entertainment committee in the afternoon in our breezeway.  At the end of the meeting she gave them salsa and chips accompanied by a drink that was like a creamsicle.  Well a problem occurred in the blender; the top came off and it wouldn't shut off.  One of the gals pulled the plug, but by then it was everywhere; on the walls, all over the blender, you name it.
When we finished up on the shed, I went home for a second shower for the day.  Marg's group were just breaking up when I got there.  We went over to the other side of the park for a farewell party.  A couple from Tofield who have been in the park as long as we have will not be returning next year.  It was an invitation event and there were only two couples not on their street invited, so a nice tribute to the relationship that we were asked.   The food was very good, better than most of those pot luck things, that's for sure.
Finished off the day going to the animal races.  It was the final one of the season, so they give away any extra money they have from the year.  They have a draw on every race and at the final race they drew 6 tickets and matched them to an animal.  i am the biggest supporter of the elephant and as luck would have it mine was drawn for it.  Unfortunately the elephant was barely in the race.  Will be hearing lots about this from a few of the people.  At the end there was a vote by the group to find a new name for the Lion, who will now be known as Lucky.  It was well attended and very rowdy, lots of fun tonight.

  1. Oh dear ... the blender sounded a bit of a disaster... and an essential part of your happy hours x

  2. Sounds like fun times. Lots of "end of the winter" parties. Too bad about the blender.
