Monday, Jan 15th

A nice day in the Valley of the Sun.  I went with two other couples to the Barrett Jackson car auction.  It was my first time there and it was a great experience.  It is easily the most recognized car auction for premium old cars and memorabilia.  Saw some great cars, many unique cars and then sat in on some of the auction sale.

Saw a Mustang that was much like the 1968 California Special she had back in the day.  I was impressed with the Tesla, an all electric car with gull wing rear doors, touch to open door pads [no handles] and electronic dash that is very unique.  A lot more European cars than I expected.  During the actual auction, when they posted the bid prices in US dollars, they also had Canadian dollar & Euro equivalent amounts.  I think the exchange rate on Canadian they used was not as good as we are getting at the bank, but close enough to keep me from thinking about anything.
Marg got a pile of potatoes peeled and sliced in preparation for scalloped potato's tonight.  After checking and finding no water aerobics, she went out for a bit of retail therapy, I thin she mentioned Bells and Fry's.  It seems she had thrown away another potato peeler, not sure how many this makes, but it's quite a few more than one, just one of the things she managed to pick up.  Returning to the park she had several visitors and went out to visit with some other friends.
When we left the auction I phoned so she could be ready as both couples were coming for supper as well as one of the gamblin' gals back in the park. Supper was the scalloped potatoes, ham, corn, beans, home made corn muffins and dinner rolls.  Oh yeah, a bottle of wine for the gals and beers for the guys.
