Tuesday, Jan 27th

  Got up and started out on our morning bike ride with Larry.  There were no other riders today, but we went anyway.  We only got as far as Ironwood and Larry said he felt a few drops and was heading back.  They were big drops, so I was totally on side with that game plan.  We only got a block and it started to rain.  By the time we got thru the back gate and into the park it was raining pretty good.  We have a rule in case of rain, it is everyone for themselves.  We did get back together, being so close there was no need to invoke the first rule of rain.  LOL.  We got a bit damp, but not too bad.
  By that time Marg was up and about, so we went out to the insurance agent we had the quote from and wrote a new policy for the park model.  The rate is about $65 less and the coverage is double, so it was a no-brainer.  I think some of our friends used to deal where we went anyway they took down the info for their own renewals.
  After that I went for a haircut and there is a boutique type second hand store there that Marg prowls around in.  Every once in a while she buys something, but mostly just checks it out.  My regular Mexican barber did his usual good job and I was good to go for another month.  By the time I got finished, Marg was as well and there were no parcels, so I assume it was just tire kicking.
  I went down to the awning place for a downspout elbow and then we stopped at the ranch market.  You may recall in prior posts, it is a produce market where it seems farmers bring products to sell in a grocery store environment.  Nothing fancy, but fresh produce at great prices.  Marg had a buggy full [they are smaller buggies] and the final tally was just over $12.
  By this time the sun was back out and it was nice and warm.  Back to the rv park where I pulled the non-functioning downspout apart.  It was full of mud & I mean full to the brim.  Took me a while prodding and soaking it and got it loosened up enough to flush out.  Hopefully this will make for less water on the pad under the carport.  It's supposed to rain on Friday or Saturday, so we will see.
  Had a better look at the drawers I bought yesterday, hmmm.  Some work will be required to make them functional, but still not prepared to write them off.  Should be interesting, given my limits in the carpentry dept.  Put that away and fixed a magnetic catch on the rear door screen door, then went to play pool.  Have not done that for a while and did not play very well.  Fortunately the guys are pretty easy going and we had a good time.  All the while Marg was doing floors back at the rv.  The place looked pretty darn good when I got back.
  Happy hour and there was a pretty good turnout.  Marg brought a birthday card for Jim & everyone there signed it, well the women did for each couple, I guess.  It wrapped up early as we had to get back for supper and then off to bingo in the rec centre.  Pretty good turnout there as well and Marg broke her jinx and won. 
  Will wrap this up to go and take some emergenC, it is a powder to put in a glass or bottle of water.  It is supposed to help with making you feel better.  We are both fighting head colds and they are nasty in the warm weather.  You at least get some relief when you step outside in the winter at home, but not so here.  It's just like a summer cold.  A bunch here think we must have caught it in Disneyland, every malady is being blamed on the place right now.  Like the measles epidemic -- there are 2 or 3 cases in a city of 4 million, some outbreak, LOL.
