January 16th

Another great day in the valley of the sun.  The day started out windy but not too cool.  Actually most days start out windy as it comes off the mountains to the north of us. That is where Bulldog canyon is where I took the Rhino on a desert trip a couple weeks ago.
I predicted the bikers would be here in the morning and sure enough they were.  There ended up being 5 of us as we started out, but one didn't want to ride into the wind, so we took a different route.  Still got in a little over 5 miles and had a good workout.  It ended up being just about an ideal day for a ride.
When I got back Marg & I went out and our first stop was for fuel.
She had some Fry's rewards, so we went there and got a 30 cents a gallon reduction at the pump.  Fortunately the truck was low on fuel and I ended up paying $1.57 per gallon, which would work out to 41 cents a litre. In the end it was $39 to fill the truck, I have not seen a fuel bill like that for years.  After we went to Best where we picked up a few things.
When we got back to the park, I worked on building a stand and installing the mirror on the wall in the Az room.
After lunch I went and played pool.  Got in with a group that I really enjoy playing with.  It's a take no prisoners bunch, but we have a lot of laughs.  Today many of the laughs were at my expense, but it was still a lot of fun. It didn't seem to matter who I played with, it was the losing side.  Marg went out and picked up a few groceries.  With Vanessa arriving tomorrow she wanted to have some food that would be within what she can eat and had success finding it.
We went to happy hour and it was a packed house today.  The main reason was that we had previously all chipped in and ordered pizza for today.  The gals had selected a great assortment and the pizza was very good.  It was the same place we got it from last time, so it was no surprise that it was good.  Marg took a tray of cookies and one of the other ladies brought some as well.  Kenny & Doris made homemade ice cream, well sorbet actually.  It was a real hit as it was last time they did it as well.  On the way back to our trailer Marg stopped at another happy hour group and gave them the desert tray to take what they wanted.  She was pretty popular when we left that group as well.
After I took the gamblin' gals to Happy Days rv park where the power ball jackpot is $700 at their bingo.  They seemed to enjoy themselves, although there were no winners in our group.  Some of us got very close, but that is like the big one that got away to a fisherman.
