Daytona Beach

What a nice day, it was about 22C at Daytona Beach. The Smiths were suffering from jet lag and were up and about in the wee hours of the AM before Marg & I got up. Had a b'fast and off to Daytona Beach today. The car we have is the big Merc & Phil is doing a good job of keeping it on the right side of the road. Phil got them to turn the heat on in the pool for the house so we can swim tomorrow. Daytona was a busy place with the Daytona 500 [trials] starting tomorrow. When we drove by you could hear some of engines as the drivers were getting in some early laps testing out their cars. The beach was a busy place for Tuesday, lots of people around. The beaches were clean and the sand very white, just like in the pictures. Got some souveniers and Marg while chatting up the sales lady in the shop learned she was raised by her mother & Don Everly [step father] of the Everly Brothers. Very cool! Had lunch at a seaside bar, Ocean Deck that she recommended. It was great. Katie's plate was a frisbee and we got good use of it on the beach. Marg & Katie picked up a bunch of shells & a sand dollar and even threw a few star fish back in the sea. Saw several armadillos along the highway on the way back as well as some racoons & possum road kill. The GPS was great, it brought us right back to the house and then it took us to a Cracker Barrel restaurant for supper & back. Big debate on what to call it, but I think Margie would appropriate, you know another female voice telling me where to go. LOL. Char has only taken about a hundred pictures, but she will be busy tomorrow in Disney World. A great day with lots of laughs.
