Tuesday, Jan 21st

It was cool and overcast today with a light rain for most of the day.  From memory it seemed like a fine Scottish mist.  The difference is it will only be for today.  Whenever it rains we just remind ourselves how important an precipitation is out here in the valley.
We mostly stayed indoors today.  We caught up on facebook, email and other things.  We had a facetime with Char.  We were sorry to hear it was a sad day for Katie as well as Char and Phil with a young friend passing away.  Life is a precious thing and nothing hits home like the loss of a young life.    I also finished a duster today.  It was titled the hunt for Tom Horn, a notorious outlaw in the wild west.
After lunch Marg went out to Safeway for a few groceries.  She likes their bakery as well as the produce and meats, but most of all the deals she gets there.  This trip was not quite as good as the last one, but she still ended up with about 1/3rd off her bottom line.  She also picked up a gorgeous small pork roast that made it to the supper table.  I went to play pool and the place was busy today.  The group I played with was a lot of fun, but the table next to us was the rowdiest, so I guess they had the most fun today.  It's just the kind of thing guys around here do on a rainy day.  i got my share of wins and the other guys got lucky a few times, so it was all good.  Meanwhile back at the home place, Marg had the roast in the oven and the fixin's as they call it on the stove.
Later on we had a phone call with Vanessa and one with Roger where we got an update on the local scene. I got some good news in the mail on some things I was working on over a year ago.  The other good news was, it seems Daniel has an idea where he wants to go both with his education and training to work on a career path that could include an apprenticeship.  This was really good news as there is kids leaving school really need to prepare for the workforce these days.
After supper we went to bingo.  The money ball was up to $600 tonight and it never went again, so will be higher next week.  We were close and I did manage to get a small win that was split 3 ways.  Nothing to get excited about, but it was a win - right?
Not much exciting to report today, but if the weather forecast is correct we will have more going tomorrow.
