Sunday, December 22nd

A much warmer night last night and the day was like a nice summer day back home.  The temperature was in the 70's and when I saw it on the truck dash around noon it was 21 C and got a bit warmer after that.
I went to the church service this morning and it was about average attendance.  The sermon today was about promises and dreams leading up to the origins of the birth of the Christ child.  The hymns were mainly well known carols, a nice prelude to Christmas.
When I got back we went out to the Mesa market so I could exchange my books.  The place was not busy judging from the parking lot as we drove in and when we got to the west side; the booth where I buy books was not operating today.  In fact there are still some vacant spaces in the place where there don't appear to be vendors.  I'm not sure if it's because it is early in the year or if it's proof of the rumour we hear that winter visitors are not spending as much as in previous years.
From there we went to Macy's.  Last time Marg was in there she got a $10 coupon that was expiring so she wanted to see what was there.  Apparently the last call area stop was unproductive but she did manage to find a small purchase at a good bargain and was able to use it.  Then back home for lunch.  We had a couple of face-times, one with Roger and the second with Char about that time as well.
This afternoon Marg had a fairly long meeting with the the association president sorting through some things coming up this week [Christmas eve and dinner on the day].  While she was busy i went out to buy water.  While we use the local water for most things, I filled a 5 gallon and a 2 gallon from the dispenser, mainly for drinking water.  After we made up a poster and put it up to encourage ticket sales for the new years party, then went for a cruise around the park.  It's pretty quiet today, lots of people went home for Christmas while others must be busy with personal stuff.  The ones who left for Christmas seem to all have got tickets at great rates, almost all of them under $100 each way.
For dinner Marg made a curry.  It was very good and a bit spicier than usual.  It was very filling so she never went for ice cream tonight.  I went but just had a bowl of ice cream as I didn't feel up to a banana split.  After I went and played some pool with 3 guys for a little over an hour.
