Sunday, December 1st

A nice day in the Valley today, I think it got up to about 18 C, so summer like weather.  I started out the day with a jacket, but quickly abandoned it in the sun.
We slept in a bit today, so never went to the church service.  For breakfast Marg made a pan of biscuits in the oven, they were sure good while they were still warm with butter melting on them.  A nice way to start the day.
We went out in the morning, first to the feed store [for almost any kind of animal you can name] where they have the best price on filling the 20 pound propane tanks.  Propane costs more here than it does at home; it's about double what I pay at Costco with considering the exchange on the dollar.  Then it was on to Walmart where we got the pictures developed for the couple across the road who celebrated their 50th.  The 4x6 pictures are incredibly low priced at about 28 cents each.  I also got a jacket, yes I know I have a bunch of them at home, but that's the problem right now.  We also got a few groceries.  I know it seems like we are always picking up groceries, but we don't have a lot of storage capacity here so almost live in the moment plus we are just getting set up here.
We also picked up a time card for the 2nd pay-as -you-go phone.  When we got back home, I had about an hour on the phone with Tracfone to get it activated.  The tech.was giving me codes to enter in our phone, several strings of 18 to 25 numbers, then I had to take out the SIM card and the battery for a few minutes.  In the end we have a second phone.  Most of my phone calls here are to find out where Marg is in the store so we can meet up.  The good news is we didn't need a new SIM card and they doubled the number of minutes she bought, the bad news is that she has a new phone number 480-452-6250.  Her rate is 6 cents a minute, which includes both local and long distance calling, a pretty good deal.
After a quick bite to eat we vacuumed and washed floors.  The place isn't large so most of the time is spent moving furniture to get at the floor.  Most of the problem is just dust as we have the door open and just use the screen door much of the day.
Supper was in today and it was very good.  Spaghetti & meatballs in tomato sauce.  I always enjoy pasta, almost any kind.  We had a nice fresh loaf of bread to go along with it.  No dessert as there was an ice cream social tonight.  It was our first one since arriving as it was cancelled last week owing to the bad storm.  After ice cream a half dozen guys went to play some pool.  It was good for a few laughs and it was nice to see a three new players.  I played well for a change, so that was all the better.  LOL
