New Years Eve eve

The day started out cloudy but nice.  The guys must have decided it was too windy or too something as they never came around to ride.  I had the bike out with my helmet and gloves on the seat, but alas it was not to be.
With nothing planned today we set out for the Mesa market place and I traded in the 5 books I had read and picked out a couple of new ones.  Marg wandered about while I was dealing in high finance with the old gal who runs the stall.  It was kind of funny, she had her daughter helping her today and when she saw I had books to sell, she said she would get her mother, who was putting books on shelves.  I told her not to bother, we regulars know we have to wait until she finishes what she is doing and I wasn't in any hurry.
Having the day free, we had a store we wanted to check out.  A while back Marg found out that Dillard's had a clearance store at Fiesta mall.  Dillard's is a high end store, more expensive than Macy's or Sears.  When looking up the location, I found out that they had extra discounts this week and the store hours were noon to 7:00 PM.  The mall was quite a hike out west from here, well up the freeway.  When we got there we learned it is a huge mall, but obviously an older one.  The mall was anchored at one end with the Dillard's store and at the other end with a Sears store, both of which were clearance centers.  The mall had been a classy one and was in very nice shape and very clean, but it was mostly empty.  I would hazard a guess that more than 90% of the stores were empty.  There were a few places in the food court and we tried one where the main offer was a variety of cheesesteak sandwiches.  We had the chicken and both it and the fries were very good.
The good news was the Dillard's was open, the store was huge, there was so much stock it was awesome and the prices were 65% less than the sticker price.  This week there was an additional 50% off on women's clothing.  Marg enjoyed success as they had a large petite selection and she found numerous things.  I think she had a pair of capris pants for $7 and a top for $6 and the list goes on.  She came out with two large bags of clothes, so a good day.  Me, well I got 5 shirts, 3 tee's and 2 golf, but they were just the regular 65% off.  Everything there was popular labels, like Jones of New York, Polo, etc.  Marg was actually looking for a new bathing suit and the Superstition store had sent all of theirs to the clearance store, but nothing there appealed to her.
When we got back it was pretty much happy hour, so we joined the regular bunch.  After it was bbq a nice steak with baked potato for supper.  Then we went out for a walk around the park and ran into a few others doing the same thing and got caught in the rain, with the others.  The forecast is for rain tonight and tomorrow, so it may be a day to put our feet up.
