Tuesday, March 6th

Nice day, it was hot and got up to about 80F in the sun. The wind was forecast to blow in the mid to late afternoon and it did not disappoint us. It blew pretty good & is bringing in cooler weather for the next couple of days. The wind blows up lots of dust and causes people with allergies lots of problems. I washed windows in the rv and had a bike ride in the morning - don't laugh people here think I keep very busy. ;>)) It was ham dinner today. They used to have an Easter dinner, but so many of the residents were gone by then that they moved it up and just call it a ham dinner. The association supplies the ham and groups of 12 lay claim to tables and supply everything else. At our table Marg made scalloped potatoes, giving her an opportunity to use the oven in the motorhome. Earlier I mentioned the weather, so not an ideal day to have the oven going. The original plan was to use the top shelf of the bbq, but the pan she made them in was way too big. It was a great meal with lots of variety and enjoyed by all. Doris had supplied dessert as she is well known for her pies. At the end of the meal the park was full of people; who like me, napped on their zero gravity chairs. LOL Bingo in the park tonight. I went with Marg and there was no joy at our table, except when we had an ice cream at the break. Our ice cream social boss, Kenny, came over and asked if we felt guilty having other ice cream. My answer was no - because I had taken sugar free, so it wasn't like real ice cream. Said some good-byes today, there will be lots of them over the next 2-3 weeks. The weather is always a topic now with people watching it closely while making their travel plans. It certainly doesn't look good in Alberta this week, so lots of time to clear off before we travel. Although our thoughts are turning more to our family & home, we probably have a month yet before we leave here.

  1. Must seem so strange having such nice weather when it's miserable at home. Our daffodils are up now, that's usually the sign of good things to come x
