Wednesday Mar 2nd

Got a little behind on the blogging. End of the month, start of the month, so quite a turnover in the park. Probably 12-15 units, some going home, others to meet up with friends in another location. Month ends are quite an event in southern Az, a migration of sorts from place to place. The week started out cool on Monday, but warmed up pretty quickly, Marg went shopping with Betty, Ma & Sue, I pretty much hung out in the park all day. Tuesday we went out for lunch to Appleby's, a great place if you have a chance to try it - do. Then went to the big mall and I got a new pair of glasses. They had 50% off lenses, so hopefully these will be good, went to a different place than the one I tried last year - fingers crossed. Canuels came over in the evening & Marg played bingo with Deb, Carol & Lorraine. Gerry & I played some 8 ball & then some 9 ball. They stayed over at Carols in AJ, so Gerry played golf with the group from our park this AM. We both had good games, I was 44, probably the best 9 I have played in memory. I attribute it all to the green tee I have been using & cart #3 we were assigned the last 2 weeks. Nice course called Apache Sun, actually better than most around here. Grass from tee to green and very fast elevated greens, but best of all - $15 for 9 holes. Gerry & I were paired with a nice couple from Reno, Ben & Diana were hilarious. They asked us to play again on Sunday, but alas we're too busy. After lunch I played pool, Marg swam in the pool. It was nice today, 76F and Marg said it was 88F in the pool. Just the kind of day we all came here for. Later in the PM we went to Ron & Mary's for cocktail hour. They are from Nebraska and everything over there has something to do with cornhuskers - their football team. Harold from Nebraska gave us the gizmo in the photo - can you guess what it is? Come on take a guess. Had lots of fun, in fact Marg said her jaws were sore from laughing. Chinese buffet for supper, just went to the local one on Apache Trail. When we got back to the RV the fruit fairy had been and left a big bag of grapefruit on one of the chairs outside. Not sure who would do that. Then on to poker with the guys, mainly the same ones as last week. I was lucky again and so will probably enjoy a ribbing for a few days. The gizmo is a Nebraska cornhuskers yo-yo! Hah, it is really funny.

  1. Great golf, move over Tiger! Couldn't figure out how the corn husker worked.... On this side of the pond folks use a knife and slice down each side of the cob allowing you to eat with your folk.... That would shock those nebraskans.
