New Years Day, Jan 1st

aka - the drive to Yuma [the 3:12 to Yuma??] Off to a good start, on the road @ 8:50, got gas in Needles, it was the most expensive gas we have seen, there is a pattern developing here. Made a wrong turn in Needles that could have been worse except we found a turn-around spot just before the underpass. It was only 8 feet high, not even close to our requirements, LOL. Called boys & grandma to wish happy New Year. Well can you believe it, we drove right to our RV [geezer] park [Caravan Oasis], unreal eh! For the BoB [Brits on the Blog] they use the word caravan in terms of a procession of camels here. We have a great spot, it was easy to get into even though it was not a pull-thru. There are palm trees & giant cactus everywhere. After set up, we got groceries & a few other things we needed [ladder]. Too funny, the Walmart superstore is about the same distance away from here as it is from home in GP. LOL. Dave picked out a couple of new kinds of beer, one made in Florida so he can recommend one to Phil. We will see if one of them will be a favourite, LOL, there are no bad beers. Well a long day, so Dave took me out for a wonderful New Yr Day dinner. It was FAB, so we will be back there again [Mimi's]. This is like an oasis in the middle of the desert. It was a little too warm during the day, so we had the windows and vents open, but it cools right down at night. Had to put a sweater on. It's nice to be in one place!
