Wednesday, Feb 26th

The wind blew again today and it was a cool wind.  The temperatures got up into the high 60's but the wind made it seem much cooler.  It seems when we start to get optimistic about hot weather, mother nature plays a trick on us.
  I was up and about early as it was golf day.  The plan was for me to meet Gerry at the auto repair shop where he was dropping off their van.  He must have arrived in AJ early as he showed up at our place so I could put his clubs in the truck.  I followed him down to the shop and it wasn't even open yet, so we waited until they opened.  We were a bit early for golf, but others were there, no one is late when you are dealing with seniors.  LOL  It was a pretty good day for golf and we were paired with a couple of pretty good guys.  I wish I played better, but I always say that.  I never lost a ball today, but some of the credit belongs to my ball retriever on the number 6 water hazard.  On the way back I stopped at the repair shop to drop Gerry off.  Apparently they did the oil change, but the AC failure was due to a leaky seal in the compressor.  Consequently they were unable to repair it and will be sending him an estimate on the work.
  Marg was up and ready for a road trip with the Gamblin' Gals.  There were 7 of them and they went to the Fort today.  They appeared to have had lots of fun and a few of them had a profitable day.  Marg's day was the best of the bunch.  She won $40 in the casino, then she had a bingo that paid $63 [I think she had to split with Cindy and maybe others].  She also had a win on her own for $400, so came away with $503 to the good.  She just missed out on a second $400 win on the last game.  Her number was in the monitor when someone called bingo, so her winning number was never actually called.  All the same a very good day.
  I played some pool in the afternoon.  It was nice as Kenny played today and the other fellow in our three is a good guy to play, so it was fun for all of us.  When I came back to our place the pest control guy was there.  I had ordered a spray for pests as our last one was in November and we were due.  There are so many critters here you either need to spray or hire it done.  Not having the equipment, I really only have the options of do it or not.
  Right after we went down to the fish fry at the clubhouse.  I took some pictures and then we visited with friends while waiting for our number to be called.  The dinner was: deep fried fish, chips, beans, bread slices and it was OK.
  A bit later I went to play poker.  There were lots of guys, so we had two tables one of 6, the other of 7.  The evening started off poorly, it took me 45 minutes to win my first hand, but I finally broke the losing streak of 4 weeks.  The table I sat at was a good one, light hearted anyway.  It was probably just the old - winners tell jokes while the losers say shut up and deal.  LOL
