Monday, March 4th

Happy birthday to Haylee & Paige.  It was nice having a facetime with each of you today.
It was a beautiful day in the valley.  I saw on the truck display it was 25C, so definitely shorts weather.  Got lots of sun today.
I went golfing with two guys from the park and we met up with Gerry at Encanto.  Traffic on the way there was light, so we made good time and did some putting before going off.  The course was busy today, but pace of play was very good.   We never saw a course ranger like we have at the last couple of privately owned or so called better course, played recently but we finished 18 holes in a respectable 4 hours.  The greens and tee boxes were good, fairways excellent; sometimes these public courses get appreciation they deserve.  We had a different format, proposed by one of the fellows, we played in pairs and changed the pairing after 6 holes.  This way each person was paired with each other in the group.  The total of both players scores was used to determine who won the hole and those names were circled.  At the end the person with the most circles was the winner.  I hit the ball reasonably well, but the surprise today was in some pretty good chip shots.  Traffic on the way home was heavier, but in the HOV it was fine, so we made great time on the trip.
Marg did laundry in the morning and it was a great day for drying.  She had a few visitors today and in the process apparently gave away the last of the corned beef hash to two of them for their lunch.  Lucky gals.  She had a facetime with Charlene and got caught up on the family news in England.  We also learned that we can expect a visit from the Smith family in the summer.  We can hardly wait.  She also took time to prepare a couple of surprises for me: coleslaw and potato salad.  She must have been thinking summer thoughts, she knows I think those are one of the things I enjoy most that we have in summer.  LOL

When I got home Marg was across the road at the neighbours looking at the top of a small palm tree.  It seems a dove has made a nest there, right in front of their trailer and has been sitting on the nest.  They said you can get really close and it won't fly away, just sits there, so it is obviously on eggs.  She asked me to take a picture, so I took several, but it's really hard to see the bird as it is grey and sitting low on the piece left when the fronds are cut off.  The dove was pretty much motionless, so hard to detect in a casual look.  There are quite a few birds that do this, including the owls, but not often this low or close to a trailer.
Supper was great tonight, a couple of sirloins on the bbq accompanied by the potato salad and coleslaw.  Desert was a nice piece of strawberry cheesecake.
