Thursday, Dec 13th

We started our day at the koffee klatch, where we were lucky enough to get a fritter.  Neither of us like the donuts with icing, so usually have nothing when that is our only option.  The meeting was well attended this morning so we were lucky as ours was the last table drawn to go up for donuts.
They had a video to play on the 3 TV sets in the clubhouse this morning but had trouble setting the TV's to the right mode.  Well you guessed it if you thought Dave could so do this.  It seems I am now the recognized authority on another field of electronic expertise.  All this serves to demonstrate how poorly my generation has adapted to technology.  Anyway we had the video on a new activity that is starting on Sunday her in the park - Chair Yoga.  It seems yoga isn't slow enough moving, so now you can do it while sitting on a chair.  Will be interesting to see how many people are interested.
When we got back I had to drive Marg in for major surgery, she got a pedicure.  LOL If you have ever seen the challenge of her toe nails, you can appreciate this is not far from the truth.  The gal seemed to do a good enough job on the toe nails, although she did cause a minor injury to one toe that caused it to bleed a bit.  Part of the service is they paint the nails after and she chose a nice bright pink.  Well she does wear open toed shoes and flip flops here, so I guess that's important.  We also picked up some Christmas-y candy while out there, so we have some to hand out during the parade tomorrow.  She was also concerned that the park managers grandchildren will likely be here, so wanted something special for them.  They all look for Marg whenever they are in the park.  You may have heard this before, but it goes back to when we were on the hill in the motorhome.  Our RV site was right next to the office for about 6 years where she gave them treats when they were in the park.
After lunch she washed and cleaned the golf cart.  Then we decorated it.  Marg had some stuff left from last year and some acquired this year which seemed to do the trick. We even have a little string of battery operated lights that she got earlier.  It took a bit of creative work to get some of the stuff, like garlands to stay on and with any luck it will.
She also did a bit of steaming of the laundry from yesterday and today.  I took the animal trap back to Gary as we never saw anything of whatever was tunneling under the patio stones.
It was happy hour at Gary & Patti's so a must go this afternoon.  I had a round wood piece that was actually a lid from something, on which I used my rotary tool to carve a large number "2" and the letters "IT".  I was looking for an opportunity to give it to Gary, so made a bit of a production in the presentation, talking about how busy he is that he can't get around to everything.  It didn't hurt that Patti made the most of saying that was true.  It was certainly good for a laugh.  There were lots of people and Gary had a wood fire in his backyard fire pit.  We were supposed to be hosts tomorrow afternoon, but with the parade, it is cancelled.  We drove the cart over there and nothing fell off, so we should be good for tomorrow.
Supper tonight was breakfast for supper.  An addition was Marg made biscuits and we had homemade jam from one of our neighbours.  A nice touch.
As I sit here writing this Marg is making 2 bunt pans of stick buns for tomorrow.  Not certain what the plan is but I'm certain we are not going to be eating all of them.  Stay tuned.
Just a note on closing.  Phil, I know how miserable a cold can be and hope you get rid of it soon.
