New Years day 2016

Wow another year has come and gone, and we look forward to new beginnings and adventures for the upcoming year.
After a late night we slept in this morning.  We were still tired and Marg was definitely under the weather.  I heard later that the guys had stopped by for biking this AM, but gave up when it looked like there was no sign of life in our place.  It's still pretty chilly in the mornings, so just as well.  I did get the bike out and sure enough the tires were both flat, so I got them filled and the bike lubed, so it is ready to go.  It was easier than dealing with the comments if I'm not ready next time.
Marg got the rest of the stuff stored in the Az room out and organized, so the driveway looks more like a patio now.  With the chairs and tables in place, I got the bar fridge and water cooler out and in place.  The water cooler is one I brought down that had been at the lake.  It made hot and cold water, but the hot feature wasn't working, so I disconnected the line to it.  The chilled water feature is what we need here anyway and that is working fine.
By that time it was lunch time.  Friends [Bob & Karen] have one of those first footings or new year traditions that is sharing ribs & sauerkraut with friends.  They have previously done it with a few people in the park, but this year invited about 40 of us.  This was what Marg picked up the buns for yesterday and she brought a meat & cheese tray as well.  It was like a pot luck so there was more food than the group could eat.  The deserts were fabulous, although Smitty's dutch oven peach thing was the first to go and I ended up with chocolate trifle that was awesome.  Big meal for mid-day for us, so we had a light supper tonight.  It also gave us an opportunity to renew a bunch more acquaintances and we met a new couple from Red Deer in the park, who just bought a place.
When I walked by to the garbage, there were only two guys at happy hour, so I went back for my usual one tin, but Marg, not feeling up to it, stayed home.  That was about it for the day.
