First day on the road

Made the trip from GP to Edmonton today.  Got on the road in good time, but it was icy and cold in GP, minus 25c.  By the time we got to Debolt, the roads were better and were clear and dry all the way to around Gunn.  Icy roads again from their to hwy #16.  Got to Edm shortly after lunch, where we went to moms place.  Not the welcome we expected, we arrived just in time to accompany her to the hospital.  It appears she will be scheduled for surgery, so our journey will be delayed until mother is on the mend.  Will stay at the Sandman in the meantime.
