The Border - O'Canada

Got fuel right in Helena, so didn't need to stop until the border wehre I filled up, $188 worth of the bargain priced stuff, so probably saved over $100 at that. Also got a couple of nice bottles of scotch in the duty free & saved more there. At this rate will probably save myself into the poorhouse - LOL. The ramp to get into the line to the border was insane, fortunately some kind hearted soul let us in. In the one pic you can see the line to the border, it was about 500 meters & took us an hour. In the second you can see the line on the highway south of where we were let in. It was easily over a mile long. Someone said the lines today could reach 4 hours long. Just a bunch of anxious sowbirds trying to sing the national anthem in their homeland once more. The customs agent was good, but it still took time, no smuggling ring here. LOL, he asked if we had more than $10,000 with us, I just said: no; we're retired. Trouts called & they had a mishap, so we pulled up in Lethbridge to spend the night. I guess they had a storm yesterday, but it was quite pleasant here, melting and all. Washed the poor car, it was all covered in grit from the trip up, the m'home will have to wait until home.
