Thursday Mar 3rd

What a nice day - oh yeh, I said that yesterday. Looking ahead I will probably be saying it tomorrow. Well after all that is why they call this the Valley of the Sun. Everyone had a big smile today when weather came up. A little concerned about the weather at home - it needs to change soon or was spring cancelled this year? We went for coffee & donuts this AM, Gary & Patty were very popular because they bought for the whole park. Nice guy & Marg said she is the spitting image of Reba. They announced March birthdays this AM, so when I had to tell mine, I just said a year older than Marg - who wouldn't tell her age. Quite a few less people at coffee, lots left this week & yet all the spaces are filled, but mostly with short term rentals. Had to go and buy a tea cup, yes you heard correctly. Tomorrow is the ladies tea, it's a tea & finger food event that signifies the winter season is drawing to a close. Me - well you will not believe this. Kenny & I got roped into pouring - yes that is correct! We have to bring hot water around so these tea grannies don't have to be interrupted. The short version of the story is Linda was looking for volunteers and Marg & Doris tripped all over each other volunteering their husbands. Arghhhh. Anyway she got a nice tea cup and saucer for the big event. Then it was the inter-park pool tourney today. We went to Eldorado & I played with Steve. In spite of my play we still won 2 of 3, thanks to him. In the afternoon, cocktails were at our place. We had our breakfast team over. We have had no luck picking a team captain, so they just refer to us as the Canadians, even though Juva is not. Pat calls her the ambassador - hah. Had to do it now as Alan & Wilma are leaving for home on the 15th & this Saturday is our turn in the kitchen. I guess we are not making sausages this week, ham instead, so it will be: bacon, ham, eggs, pancakes, biscuits & gravy for 100. Marg was making margaritas for the girls, the guys drank beer. Lots of laughs, they are a good bunch. Oh yeh, regarding the picture yesterday - it was not a corn husker - it was a YOYO made by a cornhusker.
