Big Travel day - March 1st

Well so long hot weather, it was suppposed to be 90F on Sunday. It must have come close because it was hot and sunny on the road. We left the RV park at 8:30 and it took us a little over an hour to get through Phoenix. Traffic was not too bad, although it got a little heavy in the city centre. Went straight west to Blythe, Ca and then north on the old Route 66 & no I didn't get my kicks on rte 66. Made it to Las Vegas about 4:00 PM. Vegas radio reported that the race had 165,000 cars at it. Needless to say the traffic was a tad heavy. Got as far as Mesquite, Nevada, right at the state line with Utah, about 468 miles [750 KM]. Stayed in the campground at the Oasis casino. Had a nice dinner at Casablanca, here's looking at you kid! Beer and steak, they had a 16 oz porterhouse that was great. Went to the casino, Marg play slots, I played blackjack. It was hilarious, when we finished we both won $35, kismet, eh! Lot cooler here than Phoenix, I think it got up to 72F, but still in shorts.
